Grief Support Group
RCCW have been offering grief groups for over 40 years and believe that grief due to a significant loss is an important part of the human experience. We endeavor to help you grieve in a healthy manner so you can move through the experience with caring support.
We call the group “your particular grief” as it was a phrase coined by RCCW’s founding director John Boyle, who understood that your grief is unique to you. Therefore, in this four-week series, the first two sessions are devoted principally to sharing, acknowledging, and understanding the nuances of your particular grief.
Recognizing that your particular grief is part of the larger human experience, we explore powerful models of grief (in the third session) that help situate it within a helpful context to move forward. Finally, our last session provides participants with continuing resources to support you through the grieving process, culminating in a ritual of healing to commemorate our losses.
Your Particular Grief Support Group welcomes a diversity of participants and is steeped in an interspiritual perspective that reveres wisdom from various spiritual traditions. It is also lodged in recent evidence based research on grief that informs our perspectives and practice.
