“We all have an infinite wellspring of love and healing within us just waiting to be tapped into.”

Replogle’s History

Founded in 1976 through the support of longtime Fourth Presbyterian Church member, Luther I. Replogle, and named in honor of his wife, the Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being enhances the nurturing ministry of Fourth Church.

Originally known as the Lorene Replogle Counseling Center, the Center was begun to help meet the mental health needs of the community and the Fourth Church congregation in a way that reflects God’s love for all.  We value a holistic approach that welcomes the whole person–body, mind, and spirit–into the healing process. Providing a person centered environment conducive to healing, constructive change and flourishing has been the hallmark of the center and comprises the core of its mission.

From its inception over 40 years ago, there has also been a special focus on being a place where people can deal with loss and grieve well. Our founding director John Boyle helped countless people heal and learn that loss is part of living. Dr. Boyle’s spirit and belief that life lived to the fullest is life lived in service to those in need endures at the Center, guiding and inspiring the team he remained a vital part of until his death in June 2013.

In 1990, Fourth Church contracted with Heritage Professional Associates, a group practice, to manage the clinical services of the Replogle Center.  Heritage is aligned with the values and goals of the Replogle Center and the arrangement continues to be a successful collaborative partnership. The Center derives its support from fees, donations, and the support of the mission budget of Fourth Presbyterian Church.

Education has always been an important part of the Presbyterian tradition, and the Counseling Center has evolved into a highly respected training program for social work, psychology, and pastoral counseling graduate students.

Mission

Grounded in God’s love, we are committed to being a place where people of all backgrounds can experience healing, transformation, and well-being. Utilizing counseling, education, self-care training, and spiritual direction, along with a sliding scale we strive to empower all whom we serve so that they might live their lives to their highest potential and flourish.
